Shadow Purchase and Refinance Bankers
I wanted to develop a homepage based on understanding both the user's specific goal or "job" and the thought process that would lead that user to successfully accomplish that job within the product. So for this particular case I shadowed four bankers and broke their jobs into time windows to see what information they need at each point of day.
Organize Research Findings
- Identify jobs/specific actions users are trying to get done
- Categorize the specific jobs and actions
- Define competing/alternative methods or products
- Prioritize and identify similarities in actions taken across all users
- Apply highest priority user actions to universal design (homepage)
Homepage Design
In the end I was able to come up with a homepage design that reflects the needs of both banking group; refinance and purchase. Both groups are able to asses their days work and prioritize their client's needs and actions based off the home page of their CRM (Our House).
